UnWrapping Your Car?
April 24, 2018 - Reading time: ~1 minute
One of the great qualities of having your car wrapped is the ability to remove vinyl quickly and inexpensively to restore original colour.
What happens when you are ready to remove your car wrap?
Unwrapping requires no special materials; its simply a big sticker and can be pulled off in the the same way as a sticker. Its important to heat the vinyl first, to help loosen up the adhesive, by leaving you car in the sunlight for a couple of hours or using a heat gun / hairdryer to warm up individual panels. Vinyl should be held at a 20-degree angle and pulled off with consistent tension to avoid leaving an adhesive residue behind. If theres any left, try to soak it in alcohol and rub it off with the paper towel.
If you used a quality vinyl /3M, Avery/ you should have no problem with leftovers, however, with budget vinyl brands, whole process might be a bit tricky.
